Does Your Vote Count? Part One was taped on August 28, 2003, which was the 40th Anniversary of Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech. Discussions with Graham Weatherspoon, Winston Gilchrist and Bill Murawski cover the basic nuts and bolts of voter registration, what happens with the information after it is received by the Board of Elections and the condition of the database of registered voters. And it would be surprising if you did not have a reaction similar to that of guest Winston Gilchrist once you discover the truth. Does Your Vote Count? Part One was initially aired during the election season of 2003 and was subsequently aired during the voting season in 2004 and 2005 on Manhattan Neighborhood stations, which also simulcasts their stations on the internet at www.mnn.org. The discussion also addresses 5,860 unrecorded votes in one city council district in the 2001 city-wide elections in New York City of which there are no reasons that can substantiate the votes as going uncounted or as the Board of Elections refers to them as "unrecorded" votes. Read the report compiled by Bill Murawski titled Analysis of Certified Election Results (PDF file format) that is discussed on Does Your Vote Count? Part 1, which demonstrates that 353,518 votes went "unrecorded" in that election by clicking here. |
